Measure

A plan view is a view of your kitchen area as it would be seen from above, showing the wall positions, lengths, window and door positions, plumbing and electrical positions if remaining in the same place.

Draw the walls of the room on a sheet of graph paper, start at one point in the room and move around the perimeter listing each measurement as you go.

Once this is complete mark down the height of the ceiling in the middle of your plan and mark all switches and power points with a cross and note the height from the floor to the middle of the switch.

If you have a digital camera it is always helpful to have a selection of photos as a reference, take as many as you can to show as many different aspects of the room as possible.
